AAHSA is a national association of not-for-profit organizations dedicated to providing high quality health care, housing, and home and community-based services primarily to the elderly.  It offers a number of publications and has a Web site listing its members and their facilities, as well as links to a wide range of other useful sites.

Center for Medicare Advocacy

The Center is a private, not-for-profit organization staffed by attorneys, paralegals, a nurse, and computer specialists.  The organization provides direct representation for residents of Connecticut, as well as legal advice, information and advocacy for Medicare beneficiaries nationwide.  The Center produces a wide array of written material, including self-help packets, brochures, and a quarterly newsletter.  Much of this information is available on the Web site.  In addition, the Center is involved in education, policy making, and litigation of importance to Medicare beneficiaries throughout the country.

Senior Job Bank is a non-profit, non-governmental, referral service that lists occasional, part-time, flexible, temporary and even full-time jobs.  The service primarily covers the United States, but also posts openings in Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.  Senior Job Bank has no direct involvement in hiring or supplying potential workers and receives no fees from either party.  Resumes and jobs can be posted free.

AoA, an agency within the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, is one of the nation's largest providers of home- and community-based care for older persons and their caregivers.  For over 35 years, the AoA has provided services to millions of older persons through the programs funded under the Older Americans Act.  The AoA's services include home-delivered meals programs, nutrition services in congregate settings, transportation, adult day care, legal assistance and health promotion programs.
